Rogue Justice: Israel’s Judicial Crisis and What it Means for America
A Conversation with Judge Neomi Rao and Yonatan Green
Israel’s Supreme Court is sometimes cited as the most powerful in the democratic world. But how did a handful of unelected judges come to hold such absolute sway over a nation’s laws, politics, and future?
The Georgetown Center for the Constitution and The Federalist Society invite you to join us for an exclusive event as we celebrate the launch of “Rogue Justice: The Rise of Judicial Supremacy in Israel(This link opens in a new tab)” by Yonatan Green. This definitive new work traces the Court’s ascent from a modest judicial body to the central arbiter of Israeli life, offering a cautionary and essential guide to the global struggle over law, democracy, and power.
The Program
The event will feature a keynote discussion between The Honorable Neomi Rao, Circuit Judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and author Yonatan Green. Together, they will explore the striking parallels between the Israeli and American legal landscapes, examining important questions regarding the limits of judicial power and the consequences of its abuse.
