Fran Djoukeng is a commercial litigator at an international law firm and maintains an active pro bono practice focusing on media freedom. Her scholarly interests include foreign relations law, comparative constitutional law, and African political and legal history. Fran is the recipient of the Temple Bar Scholarship from the American Inns of Court Foundation and a member of the Salzburg Global Fellowship.

Early in her career, Fran served as a law clerk to Judge Ryan D. Nelson on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and to Judge Percy Anderson on the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Fran is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center where she served as the Senior Development Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal and as a Senior Writing Fellow for the Writing Center.  She was honored with the Tutorial Program Award, in recognition of outstanding contributions made to the Law Center’s academic program. Fran is a fluent speaker of the French and Dutch languages.
