James A. Heilpern is Chairman of the Board and President of the Judicial Education Institute. He has served as Counsel at Schaerr-Jaffe, a Supreme Court litigation boutique based in Washington, D.C. He previously served as Senior Fellow at the BYU Law School, where he helped direct the school’s Law & Corpus Linguistics Project. In the words of one prominent jurist, he is the “nation’s leading authority on training judges in corpus linguistics,” having provided judicial education courses to judges throughout the country. He previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Edith Clement on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Honorable Robert H. Cleland of the U.S.

District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He’s also published in the Southern California Law Review, BYU Law Review, George Mason Law Review, University of Richmond Law Review, Jurimetrics, and Buffalo Law Review.
