Brief Bio

Hubert Stöckli. 1966, born in Zug Switzerland. 1988/92, studied law at the University of Fribourg. 1994, bar exam. 1994/5, Master of Comparative Law program (MCL) at the University of Alabama Law School. 1995/6, a foreign associate at the law firm of Bradley Arant, Birmingham/AL. 1999, doctorate with a dissertation on civil antitrust law. 1999/01, in legal practice with Wenger Vieli in Zurich while also researching public procurement law. 2001, professor at the Law Faculty of the University of Fribourg Switzerland. 2005, habilitation, venia legendi for civil and commercial law. He holds a chair for private law and is the director of the University’s Institute for Swiss and International Construction Law. Several trips to ECUPL in Shanghai. 2020/23, Dean of the Faculty of Law. He explores, teaches, and publishes in the universe of the law of obligations and is active in continuing education, mainly focusing on private construction law. He is frequently called upon to conciliate disputes related to large construction projects. Hubert Stoeckli lives in Fribourg, where he enjoys being with his family and learns new things almost daily.
