Brief Bio

Sarah Progin-Theuerkauf is a professor for EU Law and Migration Law at the University of Fribourg. Since 2011, she is also co-director of the Centre for Migration Law in Neuchâtel. Sarah studied law at the Universities of Bonn/Germany and Fribourg/Switzerland. After her Phd in EU Law at the University of Fribourg (2006), a legal clerkship took her to Düsseldorf, Krefeld, Bonn and Bangkok. From 2008 to 2009, she worked as an attorney for a major swiss law firm based in Zurich.

Sarah’s teaching and research activities focus on EU Migration and Asylum Law, the Free Movement of Persons, International Refugee Protection and Human Rights.
