The central mission of CAPS is to collaborate directly with students and the Law Center community. CAPS is dedicated to helping students develop greater self-understanding, identify and solve problems, and improve academic performance through the alleviation of psychological, emotional, and cognitive barriers. In order to best meet the demand for services, which at times may exceed capacity, CAPS operates according to a limited treatment model in which the student and the clinician collaboratively address the student’s primary concerns in a time-efficient manner. Some of these services are individual in nature and some are in a group format. All CAPS services are free of charge for Georgetown Law students. Learn more about our services in this CAPS 101 video.

The Law Center CAPS office is located in Gewirz Center, Suite 110 by appointment only. Please see the CAPS Services page to review eligibility and resources for both DC and out-of-state students.

In addition to CAPS, the Law Center retains an on-campus Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence Liaison.
