Adding a Tab or Indenting Paragraphs

By default, indents and tabs move text half an inch to the right. A tab moves the first line of a paragraph half an inch to the right. An indent moves all the lines in a paragraph half an inch to the right.

To Add A Tab

  1. Click at the beginning of the sentence you want to indent.
  2. Press the Tab key on the keyboard.
  3. The sentence will be indented.
  4. To get rid of your tab, press the Backspace key on the keyboard.
To Indent a Paragraph
  1. Select the paragraph that you want to indent.
  2. Click on the Increase Indent icon in the Formatting toolbar.
  3. Your paragraph will be indented.
  4. To get rid of your indent, click on the Decrease Indent icon in the Formatting toolbar.
Note: Every time you press the Enter key on the keyboard, you will have to reapply your Indent formatting to the next line (or paragraph).
