Finding Text

In Word XP, you can quickly search for every occurrence of a specific word or phrase.
  1. Go to the top of your document.
  2. Click on the word Edit in the Menu bar.
  3. Select the option Find.
  4. The Find and Replace dialog will appear, with the Find tab active.

  5. Type in the text you are looking for in the Find What field.
  6. Click on the Find Next button.
  7. Microsoft Word will highlight the first instance of the text that it finds within your document.
  8. Click on the Find Next button again, to find the next instance of the same text.
  9. Microsoft Word will continue to find all instances.
  10. When there are no more instances, or when Microsoft Word has reached the end of your document, the following dialog will appear.

  11. Click on the OK button to return to the document.
