Make Your Column Headings Vertical
|
Suppose you have columns headings that just can't be shortened. You can make the
headings run vertically on the page, which allows you to keep your columns narrow
and still display the entire heading. Here's how to do so.
- Create your table.
- Select the row containing the column headings.
- Click on the word Format in the menu bar.
- Choose the option Text Direction.
- The Text Direction dialog box will appear.

- Choose the desired orientation format in the Orientation
section.
- A text preview will appear in the Preview section.
- Click on the OK button.
- The column headings will be changed according to your selection.
- You can then drag the column separators to make the columns smaller so the
table takes up less space on your page.
Note: You can also change your column headings' direction
by using the Change Text Direction icon located on the Tables
and Borders toolbar.
