Repeating
a Column Heading on Subsequent Pages
|
When you work with long tables, they become divided where a natural page break
occurs. To make sure that your column headings repeat on subsequent pages, follow
the instructions below.
- Select the heading row or rows, which must include the first row of the
table.
- Click on the word Table in the menu bar.
- Choose the Heading Rows Repeat option.
- A check mark will appear to the left of the Heading Rows Repeat
option, indicating that it is enabled.
Note 1: Repeated table headings are visible only in the Print
Layout view or when you print the document.
Note 2: Microsoft Word does not repeat column headings if
you insert a manual page break or section break within a table. If you insert
a break, you will need to manually copy your column headings from the first
page to the other pages.
