Using Space Wisely in Tables

White space is important. Adding white space to a table makes the data easier to read and your table more appealing. To adjust the space in your table, follow the instructions below.
  1. Select the entire table by clicking on the Selector Tag that appears in the top left-hand corner of the table when you position the cursor over it.

  2. Click on the word Format in the menu bar.
  3. Choose the option Paragraph.
  4. The Paragraph dialog box will appear.
  5. Add consistent spacing to give some cushion between the text and the cell boundaries.
  6. In the example above, we have added 4 pt in the Before field in the Spacing section, which makes it easier to read.
