What is a Table of Authorities?

A Table of Authorities is a list of references (cases, statutes, rules, etc.) in a legal document, along with the numbers of the pages on which the references appear. To create a table of authorities, you mark the citations and then create the Table of Authorities. You can search your document for the next long or short citations to mark, or automatically mark each subsequent occurrence of the citation.
