The Track Changes feature facilitates online editing. When you
enable Track Changes, Microsoft Word will show some edits within the text of your
document. However, in order to preserve the layout of your document, Word will
display other edits in balloons that appear in the margin. The balloons usually
show deletions, formatting changes, and comments, while the in-text changes usually
reflect additions.
- Open the Microsoft Word document to be edited.
- Click on the word Tools in the Menu bar.
- Choose the option Track Changes.
- The Reviewing toolbar will appear.

- Start your editing.
- Your edits will appear in red.
- When you have completed the editing, click on the word File
in the menu bar.
- Choose the option Save As.
- The Save As dialog will appear.
- Make sure you save the edited document with a new name.
Note: To disable Track Changes, click on Tools.Track
Changes again from within the Menu bar.
