Brief Bio

Professor Ernest Lim’s research interests include corporate law and governance, private law and its relationship with public law. His articles have been published in leading, international refereed journals. His monograph, A Case for Shareholders’ Fiduciary Duties in Common Law Asia, will be published by Cambridge University Press.

Before joining NUS, he was an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of the Hong Kong. He has been a visiting fellow at St Catherine’s College, Oxford and a visiting professor at the Buchmann Faculty of Law, Tel Aviv University.

Prior to becoming an academic, he was an associate in the New York and Hong Kong offices of Davis Polk & Wardwell where he represented startups, Fortune 500 companies and investment banks in capital market transactions.
