Brief Bio

Marta has more than twenty years of experience in the areas of IP and new technologies. Following graduation from ESADE Law School in Barcelona, Marta worked 3 years in the IP litigation department of Uria and Menendez in both Madrid and Barcelona. Marta then received an LL.M from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.. After graduation, Marta returned to Barcelona where she joined the IP Litigation department of Clifford Chance where she worked for 10 years before working as IP Counsel at Cuatrecasas in Barcelona. At these firms, Marta litigated multi-jurisdictional cases involving, among others, infringement of trademarks,  patents, designs, and copyrights. She was part of the team that litigated the Samsung v. Apple design case in Europe, Nespresso patent litigation against generic capsules, the Lipitor patent litigation case, and the Windows v. Lindows trademark infringement case in Europe.

Marta also specializes in software protection and digital technology. Currently, Marta is the General Legal Counsel of Core Association, a Swiss multinational, which provides domain name solutions for registries and registrars (https://corenic.org). In addition to being an active attorney, Marta has been an ESADE Law and Business School teacher since 2003, where she has taught numerous classes on IP and IT related matters. Since 2019 she is the co-director of the ESADE Master’s in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law.
