VIDEO PRODUCTION
Steve Eckhoff, Director of Audiovisual Services, and Christopher Ballantyne, Instructional Technologist

The A/V office offers a wide variety of video production services to the Law School Community. We do something as simple as taking clips from various sources and combining them on one DVD, or something as complex of taking a concept and shooting and editing original footage to create a video.

Video editing takes a good deal of time, and must be worked around the day-to-day operations of the office. If you have a video project, you should plan on it taking anywhere from a week to several months to complete. If you are submitting videos to be edited down to a single DVD, you must provide exact time for each clip as well as the first and last line of the clip. Once we get the footage, it will be captured, edited, and then burned to DVD.

If you want to record an event, you must arrange this two weeks in advance. Your event can be recorded and webcast, or placed on the web after the event is finished. Remember to get consent from your speakers well in advance of your event.

If you wish to create an original video, perhaps shoot an interview with a guest of the law school, or make a video to publicize an event or department, you will need to meet with someone in the A/V office several weeks ahead of time to discuss the logistics of the project. Once the footage is shot, you will be responsible for reviewing the footage, deciding what clips you would like to use, and giving this information to the A/V office.

Once we have that information, we'll edit your video and give it to you for your final approval. Feel free to stop by the A/V office with any questions regarding video production here at the Law School.
