MyAccess+ Project Updates ruler

Banner (which Georgetown is calling MyAccess+) is a student information system made by a technology company called Sungard, headquartered in Pennsylvania. It is one of the most popular systems of its kind in the United States. Higher education institutions like Yale and George Washington University run their operations with Banner.

Banner's main purpose is to help students register for classes, check their grades, apply for financial aid, and manage their accounts. Faculty members post grades with the system and academic administrators manage student records, course information, student accounts, and financial aid transactions.

The experiences of peer institutions show that the first year in the implementation of Banner, or a similar system, can be difficult and disruptive for all community members.
