Adding a File Name and Network Path to a Worksheet


Although you can add the workbook's name in the custom header or footer section, that command will not add the network file path for you. To add the file name and path to a worksheet, follow the instructions below.
  1. Save your workbook.
  2. Select a worksheet.
  3. Click once in the cell where you want the file name and path to be located.
  4. Type =CELL(“Filename”, A1) – where A1 refers to the cell containing the File Name and Path formula.
  5. Click on the Enter Formula icon (the green checkmark) in the Formula bar.

  6. The network location, workbook name, and worksheet name will appear in the cell.
  7. You can repeat the process for each worksheet in the workbook.
