NEW 5-YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN FOR TECHNOLOGY
Pablo G. Molina, Campus CIO and AVP of IT
The Law Center finished implementing its second five-year strategic plan for information technology in June of 2010. I am writing the next plan in consultation with the Technology Users Committee, our Main Campus colleagues and some strategic vendors like Adobe, Apple, Cisco, Dell and Microsoft. I would like to solicit ideas and comments from faculty, staff and students.
The plan hopes to support pedagogical innovations and to improve the operational efficiency of all Law Center academic and administrative departments. The key technical components of the plan are a new wireless network infrastructure and modern audiovisual systems. These will be paired with synergic cloud services for email communications, upgrades of the existing campus systems, and major improvements of the University-wide Enterprise Resource Planning Systems for student records, finance, payroll and human resources: Banner and Workday.
