Certifications & Verifications

Guidance Related to COVID-19

Georgetown Law continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation and respond in support of the Law Center community.  In consideration of our students, faculty, and staff the Office of the Registrar will be transitioning to remote operations beginning Monday, March 16, 2020. For assistance, please contact the Office of the Registrar via email at lawreg@georgetown.edu.

Please note that due to Remote Operations:

  • Certifications will not be available for drop off or pick up
  • Notarization services will not be available

Certifications and Verifications include, but are not limited to:

  • State-Bar forms;
  • Enrollment/good standing verifications;
  • Certifications of graduation; and
  • Loan & Insurance forms

The above certification requests are NOT accepted via telephone.  All certifications require a written request (with an original signature – electronic signatures are not accepted) by the student.  Inclusion of your GOCard or Birth-date, daytime phone number, and delivery instructions are essential for timely processing.

PLEASE NOTE: Certifications will not be released to students with account holds or blocks.

To request any of the certifications above, please complete a Certification Request Form via Hoya360:

For instructions, please review Hoya360 Student Certification Instructions.

For instructions on getting a NETID, please click Get A NETID.  Alumni who graduated prior to 1979 who do not have a NETID login, please email the office of the Registrar at lawreg@law.georgetown.edu and we will email you the request form to complete.

If you are requesting multiple certifications (including multiple state-bar certifications), please note each requires its own Certification Request Form.

There is no charge for certification services and envelopes with postage are not required.  Normal processing takes 3-5 business days but may take up to 7 business days during heavy volume periods (i.e. commencement, exams, and registration).  Expedition is not available.  Certifications can be mailed, emailed, or faxed.
