Marcelo Marzouka is a Law Fellow at the Sovereign Debt Forum at Georgetown University Law Center. He holds an LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law from Georgetown, and a Law Degree (Licenciatura en Derecho) and a Sociology Degree (Licenciatura en Sociología) from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Before Georgetown, Marcelo served as Team Leader on the United Nations Board of Auditors, where he led multidisciplinary teams auditing UN entities across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, conducting financial audits and anti-corruption assessments. He also served as Counsel at Chile’s Supreme Audit Institution (the Comptroller General of the Republic) overseeing compliance and anti-corruption issues.

Earlier in his career, he co-founded Sunbird Finance, where he structured cross-border transactions between Latin American and Middle Eastern parties, involving private investors, sovereign wealth funds, and multilateral institutions such as the World Bank and EBRD. Between 2019 and 2025, Marcelo was also an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Political Science of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, covering issues related to international relations and Arab Studies.
