Doug Duggan is an LL.M student specializing in corporate and international taxation at Georgetown Law University Center. Hailing from Miami, Florida, Doug earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Florida International University and Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas College of Law. Previously before law school, Doug held corporate positions with Apple and Microsoft. During law school, his academic excellence secured him a merit-based scholarship for Tax Law, and he distinguished himself by ranking among the top 5 participants nationwide in the American Bar Association Tax Law Challenge.

Throughout his journey, Doug garnered invaluable experience by clerking at corporate law firms and tax advisory entities. He became an advisor for tech startups, providing expert guidance on multinational legal issues and corporate affairs. His advisory extended to the crypto realm, where he assisted companies in making strategic governance decisions and provided tax consulting services to public and private multinational clients with a collective worth exceeding 50 million USD. His expertise includes addressing international tax matters, IP migration, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, internal restructurings, as well as extensive research on international and crypto tax issues.

Passionate about the critical role of intellectual property in international trade and economic development, Doug eagerly anticipates engaging with experts and colleagues to further hone his knowledge and skills at Georgetown and within the Institute of International Economic Law.
