Originally from a small town in central Nebraska, Lauren McNeal graduated from the honors college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with highest distinction and Phi Beta Kappa in 2020. At UNL, she majored in Political Science, Spanish, and Psychology, with a minor in Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs. During her second year of university, she studied International Relations and Spanish in Granada, Spain, where her interest in international affairs began. When she returned to Nebraska, she began working in the UNL Political Science Department, where she analyzed legal documents from the United Nations and examined legal issues facing women in EU member countries.

Upon graduating from UNL, she interned for the U.S. Grains Council and worked on projects pertaining to international trade policy and market development between the United States and Latin America. After this internship, she moved to Madrid, Spain and taught English in a primary school for two years. At Georgetown Law, Lauren looks forward to pursuing a career in international trade law.
