Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Software

1. Open your Internet browser and navigate to this link to the CNET Download.com page.
2. The CNET Download.com page will open.
3. Click on the Download Now link.
4. A File Download – Security Warning dialog will appear, prompting you to Run or Save the file.
5. Click on the Save button.
6. The Save As window will open.
7. Save the file to your Desktop.
8. When the download is complete, a Download Complete dialog will appear.
9. Click on its Close button.
10. You are now ready to install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

Once you have downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, you are ready to install it. Instructions to do so are listed below.

1. Close all open applications and windows on your computer.
2. Double-click on the downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware file icon, located on your Desktop. (It will most likely be called mbam-setup.)
3. An Open File-Security Warning dialog will appear.
4. Click on its Run button.
5. A Select Setup Language dialog will appear.
6. Select English and click on the OK button.
7. A Welcome to Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Setup Wizard dialog will appear.
8. Click on the Next button.
9. A License Agreement dialog will appear.
10. Enable the I Accept the Agreement field and click on the Next button.
11. An Information dialog will appear.
12. Click on the Next button.
13. A Select Destination Location dialog will appear.
14. Accept the default setting and click on the Next button.
15. A Select Start Menu Folder dialog will appear.
16. Accept the default setting and click on the Next button.
17. A Select Additional Tasks dialog will appear.
18. Enable the Create a Desktop Icon field and click on the Next button.
19. A Ready to Install dialog will appear.
20. Click on the Install button.
21. The installation will begin.
22. A Completing The Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Setup Wizard dialog will appear.
23. Enable the Update Malwarebytes Anti-Malware field and click on the Finish button.
24. An Updating Malwarebytes Anti-Malware dialog will briefly appear and a Malwarebytes Anti-Malware icon will appear on your desktop.
25. You are now ready to use the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware software.

Once you have downloaded and installed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, you can start using the software. Instructions for doing so are listed below.

1. Close all open windows.
2. Double-click on the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware icon located on your desktop.
3. A Malwarebytes Anti-Malware window will open.
4. Go to the Update tab.
5. Click on the Check for Updates button.
6. When the updates are complete, a Malwarebytes Anti-Malware dialog will appear, stating that you have the latest version.
7. Go to the Scanner tab.
8. Enable the Perform Quick Scan field and click on the Scan button.
9. A Scan in progress window will open and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will begin its search for malware on your computer. This process can last anywhere from 3 to 12 minutes.  When the process is complete, a Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Scan Complete dialog will appear.
10. If no malicious items are found…
    • Click on the OK button.
    • A text window will open, listing the scan’s details.
    • Close that window.
    • You will return to the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware window.
    • Click on the Exit button.
11. If malicious items are found…
    • Select the objects that appear by clicking once on the check-box that appears to their left (a checkmark will appear).
    • Click on the Next button.
    • A dialog will appear, stating that all of the objects you selected will be removed.
    • Click on the OK button.
    • The malware will be deleted and you will return to the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware window.
    • Click on the Exit button.
