Supporting Juvenile Defenders in the Mid-Atlantic Region:
Mid-Atlantic Juvenile Defender Center
At the Georgetown Juvenile Justice Initiative (GJJI), we work passionately to improve legal representation in DC and across the Mid-Atlantic Region. Along with the National Juvenile Defender Center (NJDC), GJJI coordinates The Mid-Atlantic Juvenile Defender Center (MAJDC), one of 9 regional centers of NJDC. MAJDC is responsible for providing technical assistance and coordinating juvenile defender training and reform efforts in DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Puerto Rico. Professor Henning is currently the Director of the MAJDC. Together we seek to change the culture of juvenile justice by ensuring excellence in juvenile defense and promoting justice for all children across the Mid-Atlantic region.
