Obtain Your mobile GOCard

The mobile GOCard is the official Georgetown University identification. All students of the University need to obtain a mobile GOCard for identification purposes. Students who have not setup and activated their mobile GOCard may do so by visiting the Mobile Credential webpage to check for device compatibility and get help with setting up your card.

In the event your mobile device does not meet the compatibility requirements you may contact the GOCard office and a Staff member will provide you with further instructions.

Submitting Your Photo for GOCard

Your photo for your new GOCard can be submitted by using the GOCard Photo Upload page

Please Note submitted photos must meet the following requirements: A color photo with a solid background, you must be facing the camera, and only includes yourself. Photos that include sun glasses, partial photos, non solid backgrounds, hats and not facing the camera will not be approved).

Photos are generally approved within two business days.

Use Your mobile GOCard at Card Readers

The mobile GOCard is used to gain access to the Law Center buildings and various services by ‘Tap and GO’ based on the type of phone you own. Visit https://gocard.georgetown.edu/gocard-functions/ for information on GOCard functions.

Apple: Place the top of your device near the face of the reader.

Android: The location of the embedded NFC antenna varies by manufacturer. In general, place the middle of your device near the face of the reader. You do not need to unlock your phone, but the screen must be awake to use your GOCard. Tap the power button to wake the screen and hold the middle of the phone near the top of the reader.
