Elizabeth Tuggle
Elizabeth Tuggle brings a unique interdisciplinary background to her role as Program Associate and Office Manager at the Human Rights Institute (HRI) at Georgetown Law. With graduate degrees in Art History and Arab Cultural Studies, she supports the Institute’s mission by managing all aspects of program operations, budgets, and logistics for events and academic programming. Her professional experience spans higher education, arts administration, and scientific research, including previous roles at the University of Texas at Austin and in the private sector as a chemist.
Prior to joining HRI, Elizabeth was a Senior Career Coordinator for the University of Texas College of Fine Arts, where she assisted graduate students in the arts with teaching and curatorial applications. Her portfolio included the New York Experience, where she managed a four-day event with the Met Opera, Whitney Museum of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Public Theater.
Her academic work has focused on the intersections of art, conservation, and cultural representation. She received notable awards to support her work including the Critical Language Scholarship for study in Oman, the Foreign Language and Area Studies scholarship, and the Theodore Bowie Fellowship for archival work in Beirut. She holds an M.A. from Indiana University, an M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and a B.A. in Chemistry from St. Edward’s University.
