Faculty and Staff Cloud Printing FAQ
Yes, for the time being. However, the University will eventually phase out the
old system, probably in the Spring 2024 semester.
PaperCut lets you print to any machine on campus, from anywhere, since it’s a cloud printing system. Keep in mind that cloud printing allows you the flexibility to print to any printer so if the printer of your floor malfunctions, you can go release your job from any XEROX printer on campus. Future-proofing: Georgetown will eventually eliminate support for our old print system and mandate the switch.
Remote work scenario: Ever been at home and wished you could hit ‘print’ and have it
waiting at the office? You can’t do that with the old system. With PaperCut? Print to any campus
printer from anywhere.
Jammed printer: Suppose the closest printer jams at the worst possible
time. Before, you’d be hunting for another printer setup. With PaperCut? Just
hit print and release your job from any campus printer.
Last-Minute Classroom Hustle: Say you’re teaching in McDonough but left your
printouts in your Hotung office. Instead of a mad dash back, just swing by any McDonough
printer and get it done. No more cross-building sprints.

Please cancel the job on the printer and report the issue through the QR code on the printer. You can then resubmit and release at another printer.
If you don’t release your document within 6 hours of having sent it to the print queue, you’ll receive an email notification from PaperCut that your print job has been canceled. If your document is removed, you can just resend the document to the queue.
