Professor Davis is a partner in the New York office of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, LLP where he focuses his practice on financial restructuring. He represents debtors, secured lenders and agents, unsecured creditor groups and investors in complex business reorganizations, debt restructurings, and distressed mergers and acquisitions in a wide array of industries, including healthcare, airline, steel, telecommunications, energy, financial, retail, and manufacturing. He has also represented many companies in chapter 11 restructurings.
Professor Davis was selected for the 2007 and 2008 editions of The Best Lawyers in America and the 2007, 2008 and 2009 editions of The Legal 500 (United States). He was also ranked by the Chambers Guide to Leading Lawyers in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. In 2008, Professor Davis was recognized as a Top Lawyer by Corporate Counsel and a leading lawyer by IFLR 1000. His representation of JP Morgan Chase as agent and secured lender in the out-of-court restructuring of Centro Properties Group, one of the largest owners and managers of shopping centers in the United States and Australia, received the 2009 Merger Market Turnaround Atlas Award for 'Out-of-Court Restructuring of the Year'.
He is a frequent writer and speaker on restructuring topics and an active member of the Committee on Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganizations of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association.
