Derek B. Dorn

Professor Dorn is a partner of Davis & Harman LLP. His law practice concentrates on legislative and regulatory matters related to taxation, employee benefits, and energy. Prior to joining the firm, he was Senior Counsel to U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman and Staff Director of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure. Earlier, he was Counsel to Senator Joseph Lieberman. Before entering public service, Professor Dorn practiced in the tax, trusts and estates, groups of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, and Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler.  He has also managed the legal, economic and regulatory affairs practice of Gerson Lehrman Group, a global investment research firm. Professor Dorn has taught at Georgetown Law Center since 2008.
