Ellis Duncan is the Director of the Graduate Tax Program and an Adjunct Professor of Law. Ellis manages the day-to-day operations of Georgetown's Graduate Tax Program, and serves as the primary academic advisor to approximately 250 students enrolled in the Tax LL.M., Executive Tax LL.M., and Master of Studies in Law (Taxation) programs. He also oversees the graduate tax curriculum, consisting of over 60 tax courses, recruits and reviews adjunct faculty members, and evaluates applicants for admission and scholarship awards.

Prior to joining the Law Center, Ellis practiced tax law for several years at Dewey Ballantine in New York, NY and at Ropes & Gray in Washington, DC, where his practice focused on the taxation of domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, corporate and partnership restructurings, financing transactions, financial products and other derivatives.
