Professor Feuerstein is a Partner in the tax group at Hogan Lovells US LLP . His practice encompasses a broad range of transactional and tax planning matters. He regularly advises taxable and tax-exempt clients on issues involving commercial transactions, including the tax and other legal aspects of forming strategic joint ventures, partnerships, limited liability companies, and corporations; structuring private equity, venture capital, real estate, and other investment funds; and effecting acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, and public offerings. Professor Feuerstein regularly advises non-profit organizations regarding federal and state tax exemptions, the structure of their investments, campaign and lobbying activities and the application of the unrelated business income tax. He also regularly advises real estate investment trusts (REITs)and pass-through entities that own real estate. He has represented REIT clients in connection with public offerings of securities, mergers and acquisitions of properties, and day-to-day tax matters. Professor Feuerstein also advises sponsors of, and investors in, private equity, venture capital, real estate, and other investment funds on a wide range of fund formation and investment matters.
