A.B. cum laude, J.D. cum laude, Georgetown. Professor Mullahy Fugere is one of the co-founders and, since 1991, has served as Executive Director of the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless. The Legal Clinic provides pro bono civil legal assistance to homeless families and individuals in the District of Columbia. Prior to assuming this position, she served as president of the Legal Clinic's board of directors and was in private practice with the law firm of Reno, Cavanaugh & Hornig, specializing in affordable housing law and homelessness issues. Professor Mullahy Fugere serves on the District of Columbia Access to Justice Commission, as well as on the Steering Committee of the Fair Budget Coalition, a coalition of children's advocates and social and legal service providers dedicated to protecting the rights and advancing the interests of our most vulnerable neighbors. She is also a board member of the Homeless Children's Playtime Project and NETWORK – A National Catholic Social Justice Lobby and serves on the Advisory Board of the DC Fiscal Policy Institute. She was a member of the Management Committee of the Campaign for New Community, and has served on the boards of directors of the Washington Council of Lawyers, Calvary Women's Shelter and the Coalition for Financial Accountability, as well as the Legal Resource Center for Non-Profit Housing Sponsors.
