Mr. Kohlman is a partner in the Washington firm Bredhoff & Kaiser, PLLC, with more than thirty years of experience in criminal defense work and twenty-five years of experience in white collar criminal law. His involvement in white collar cases includes defense of Representative John Jenrette in the ABSCAM prosecution, representation of a major figure in the Charles Keating investigation, and the defense of a member of Ken Starr’s staff in a criminal trial. Mr. Kohlman’s criminal experience includes both individuals, corporations and unions in grand jury practice, internal investigations, trials and appeals. In addition to criminal defense work, Mr. Kohlman has an active civil litigation practice which includes plaintiff civil rights cases, employment law and other complex civil work. Mr. Kohlman has tried hundreds of cases in close to twenty states and the District of Columbia Mr. Kohlman began his career as a law clerk to the Honorable Samuel Roberts of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Thereafter, he was at the Washington, D.C. Public Defender Service, initially as a staff attorney and later serving as Director of Training and then Chief of the Trial Division. In between PDS and his present firm, Mr. Kohlman was in practice with such notable criminal defense attorneys as Michelle Roberts, Ken Robinson and Mark Rochon.
