Professor Linck is Of Counsel with Rothwell, Figg, Ernst & Manbeck, serving as a consultant, expert witness and mediator/arbitrator. She also handles litigation matters in the federal courts and in the USPTO. Previously, she was an Administrative Patent Judge at the USPTD; Deputy General Counsel, IP and Trade at the Biotechnology Industry Organization; and Senior Vice President, IP and Regulatory Affairs, for Guilford Pharmaceuticals. Professor Linck also was the Solicitor of Patents and Trademarks, where she represented the Commissioner of Patents and Trademarks in patent and trademark litigation at both the trial and appellate court levels. In addition, she was responsible for the issuance of legal guidelines, such as the computer software guidelines issued in 1996 and the genus-species guidelines issued in 1997. Prior to becoming Solicitor, Professor Linck was a partner in the law firm of Cushman, Darby & Cushman, where she specialized in patent litigation. She is a former Federal Circuit law clerk, serving under Judge Pauline Newman and a former patent attorney with Monsanto Company. Professor Linck lectures throughout the country on current patent law issues and issues in the pharmaceutical industry.
