Abbe David Lowell

B.A., J.D., Columbia. Professor Lowell is the partner in charge of the White Collar Defense and Special Litigation Group in the D.C. office of Chadbourne & Parke, LLP . His practice focuses on criminal and civil trials and litigation, as well as advocacy and counseling before Congress and various administrative agencies. He has tried cases in over a dozen states, argued numerous appeals (including to the Supreme Court), and has represented clients in international investigations. He was a special assistant to the U.S. Attorney General, a special assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, and a special assistant to the U.S. deputy attorney general. Professor Lowell also has served as Chief Minority Counsel to the House of Representatives with respect to the impeachment proceedings against President Clinton. Before that, he served as Special Counsellor to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Professor Lowell has been recognized as one of the top trial and white collar attorneys and one of the most influential attorneys in the U.S. by numerous legal and non-legal publications.
