Mr. Maydew has over fifteen years of experience representing U.S. and foreign-based multinational organizations. His area of expertise is in business taxation, including particularly domestic and international tax planning for mergers, acquisitions and other major corporate transactions. His practice also includes private ruling requests, audit and tax controversy matters. He represents clients in the aerospace, automotive, consumer products, e-commerce, electronics, petrochemicals and other industries. Prior to joining Baker & McKenzie, Mr. Maydew worked in the Washington National Tax practice of a national accounting firm. Mr. Maydew co-authors an international tax treatise published by the Research Institute of America entitled U.S. Corporations Doing Business Abroad. He has also authored and co-authored articles for Tax Analysts and other publications such as The All or Nothing Rule Leaves Taxpayers Empty Handed. He is a frequent speaker on international tax topics before the American Bar Association, Tax Executives Institute, Council for International Tax Education, the Chicago Tax Club and the International Fiscal Association.
