Professor Murthy is a Director in KPMG LLP’s Washington National Tax Compensation and Benefits group. She addresses individual and corporate taxation issues associated with all aspects of compensation and benefits, including nonqualified deferred compensation, equity-based compensation, qualified plans, and fringe benefits. Professor Murthy has particular expertise in cross-border taxation issues associated with the international delivery of benefits under pension, 401(k), fringe benefit, equity, and deferred compensation arrangements on the individual employee, corporate deductibility, and payroll compliance levels. Prior to joining KPMG, Professor Murthy was at the law firm of Baker & McKenzie, and before that, served as in-house benefits tax counsel at IBM Corporation. She is a member of the BNA Tax Management Advisory Board, Compensation Planning Committee.
