Walter Nagel

Professor Nagel combines extensive corporate executive experience with large law firm experience. Professor Nagel has been named a 2012 DC Super Lawyer, an honor reserved for five percent of practitioners.  He is a partner with Crowell & Moring, resident in the Washington, D.C. office. Professor Nagel was a partner with Reed Smith, LLP, of counsel with Sullivan & Worcester, LLP and served as Chief Tax Executive & General Tax Counsel for MCI Communications.   Professor Nagel is a former chair of the American Bar Association's State Tax Committee and is a nationally recognized expert in corporate taxation. Professor Nagel is the editor and principal author of the treatise: State Business Taxes and co-author of the textbook Leading U.S. Supreme Court State Tax Cases. Professor Nagel also has extensive experience handling federal securities law matters dealing with some of the largest mutual funds in the country and is the editor of a treatise on mutual funds: Mutual Funds.
