Professor Polebaum established and led the international arbitration practice at Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP for more than 25 years. He frequently serves as arbitrator in both administered and ad hoc cases, and has been appointed arbitrator in more than 50 international cases.  Professor Polebaum also has appeared as counsel before tribunals throughout the world in more than 140 cases.  He is the author of the treatise International Arbitration:  Commercial and Investment Treaty Law and Practice(ALM/Law Journal Press 2015).  Early in his career, Professor Polebaum served as law clerk to Supreme Court Justice William J. Brennan, Jr., and United States Circuit Judge James L. Oakes.
