Paula N. Rubin

B.A. cum laude, University of Texas-Austin; J.D. with honors, State University of New York-Buffalo. Professor Rubin is in the Investigations Unit of the Disability Rights Section of the Department of Justice. Until January 2001, she served as Director of Training with the National Association of Protection and Advocacy Systems, Inc., a national disability rights organization. Prior to joining NAPAS, she was a visiting fellow at the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) at the U.S. Department of Justice. In this position, she served as project director for an NIJ grant to research, develop, and deliver publications and training for the criminal justice system on the Americans with Disabilities Act as well as other human resources management issues. Professor Rubin was legal counsel and special assistant to the commissioner at the Texas Employment Commission, and worked in the international trade field office at the U.S. Department of Justice. She has worked at a number of law firms where her practice focused on employment law. Professor Rubin has authored various publications and articles for non-legal audiences. She has led workshops on personnel and management issues and was an instructor of legal writing and civil procedure in the Paralegal Division of the International Business School.
