Professor Sharon is a Partner at Bingham McCutchen LLP, where he focuses on international tax issues, including transfer pricing and dispute resolution. He is the former Director of the Advance Pricing Agreement Program in the Office of Associate Chief Counsel (International) of the Internal Revenue Service, where his responsibilities included setting overall program policies, acting as the reviewer on all pharmaceutical company and auto company APAs, resolving disagreements between APA teams and taxpayers and their representatives, strengthening relations between the APA Program and the IRS Field, coordinating with the U.S. Competent Authority and negotiating directly with foreign tax authorities on particularly complex bilateral APAs. Professor Sharon is a frequent speaker at transfer pricing-related conferences and is a member of Tax Management's "Leading International Tax Practitioners" group, which provides regular commentary on international tax issues in Bloomberg BNA's International Journal. He also now serves on the Bloomberg BNA Tax Management Transfer Pricing Advisory Board.
