Arthur Ago is the Chief of the Trial Division at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia (PDS). He has been at PDS for 15 years, where he has represented children facing juvenile delinquency charges and adults charged in felony cases. Currently, Professor Ago manages and supervises over 50 trial attorneys. In addition to his supervisory responsibilities, Professor Ago represents people facing felony charges.
Professor Ago was also a Supervising Attorney and Adjunct Professor of Law with the D.C. Law Students in Court clinical program. At Law Students in Court, he supervised over 50 3L’s in their representation of indigent people facing misdemeanor charges in D.C. Superior Court.
Professor Ago graduated from The George Washington University Law School, where he served on the Law Review. He received his B.A. from Amherst College and an M.A. in Asian American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
