Professor Arend is Professor of Government at Georgetown University, and is the Director of the MSFS Program in the Walsh School of Foreign Service. He was a co-Director for the Institute for International Law and Politics in the Department of Government. He was a senior fellow at the Center for National Security Law at the University of Virginia School of Law and an articles editor of the Virginia Journal of International Law. Professor Arend has authored numerous books and publications on international law issues. His teaching and research interests include international law, especially relating to the use of force, international legal theory, international organization, international relations, and constitutional law of United States foreign relations.
