Professor Asancheyev is the Deputy Director of the Georgetown Center on National Security and the Law, where she is responsible for all the Center's programming and initiatives. In addition to teaching a seminar on habeas corpus, she manages the Security Law Brief, a blog news source covering the intersection of national security and the law. Previously, Professor Asancheyev was in private practice focusing on white collar criminal defense, as well as representing Guantanamo detainees. She clerked for the Honorable Richard Owen in the Southern District of New York, received her B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
