B.A., A.M., J.D., Stanford. Professor Brenner is a partner in the Communications, Media, and Entertainment Group at Hogan Lovells USA, LLP, Washington, DC. He represents clients before federal and state agencies and participates in federal court litigation as well as counsels on media and telecommunications policy and business. For over 16 years, Brenner was Senior Vice President for Law and Regulatory Policy at the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, where he served as chief legal and policy counsel to the national trade association representing cable systems, program networks, and product and service companies. Professor Brenner was Of Counsel at LeBoeuf, Lamb (now Dewey & LeBoeuf), where he was an attorney with emphasis in communications, entertainment and federal regulatory matters. As a full time professor at the University of California School of Law in Los Angeles, Professor Brenner worked in the areas of communications, copyright, entertainment law and legislative process and was Director of the Communications Law Program. Professor Brenner was legal and senior advisor to the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission on all major broadcast and cable matters. He was appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate to serve on the Board of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, where he was elected Vice Chair. He has authored several books and articles on telecommunications, cable and media.
