Professor Creighton joined the Criminal Division of the United States Department of Justice in 2010 through the Attorney General's Honors Program. He joined the Organized Crime and Gang Section, where he has prosecuted the criminal enterprises MS-13 and Armenian Power.

Professor Creighton graduated from Harvard University, magma cum laude, and from Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude. He received a Ph.D. in sociology from Stanford University. He has taught sociology and organization theory at the University of Washington, Stanford University, and the University of California, Berkeley.
