His practice centers on the defense of the Securities and Exchange Commission and the NASD investigations and regulatory enforcement proceedings. Previously, Professor Dorfman was a Trial Attorney and Special Counsel with the SEC’s Division of Enforcement. He handled a wide variety of matters at the SEC, including investigations and enforcement actions concerning tender offers, insider trading, trading market practices, and financial accounting issues. Mr. Dorfman presently serves on the SEC Enforcement Subcommittee of the Securities Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation and the Subcommittee on Civil Litigation and SEC Enforcement Matters of the ABA Section of Business Law. He co-chaired an ABA Task Force on SEC Rules Relating to Investigations and their report was published at 42 Bus. Law. 789 (1987).
