Charles L. Edson

B.A., magna cum laude, J.D., Harvard. Professor Edson is senior counsel with the law firm of Nixon Peabody LLP. His practice included all phases of law related to housing development, management finance, and taxation, including extensive legislative activity. He has counseled governmental, trade, and public interest entities and groups on housing and legislative matters. Professor Edson has also been a partner with the law firms of Peabody & Brown, Kelley Drye & Warren, and Lane and Edson, P.C. He was Transition Director for Department of Housing and Urban Development on President Carter's Transition Staff. Professor Edson was for nearly 40 years Co-Editor-in-Chief of Housing and Development Reporter, a news and information service published by Thomson West. He has chaired various national housing seminars and lectures extensively on housing and development matters. Professor Edson had previously taught a seminar on federally-assisted housing programs at the Law Center.
