Michael Golden returns to Georgetown Law from an appellate practice in which he handled complex legal issues for a diverse group of clients. Michael teaches Legal Research & Writing and the Law Fellow Seminar. Michael’s scholarship focuses on emerging issues of constitutional law and intellectual property rights.
Michael clerked for Judge Frank Magill in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit before joining Latham & Watkins’s litigation department. While at Latham, Michael tackled countless issues of first impression for his clients—including cutting-edge trademark, health care, contract law, and constitutional questions—and represented clients at every stage of litigation. Michael has a unique interest in religious freedom; while at Latham, he successfully argued on behalf of federal prisoners seeking to participate fully in communion while incarcerated, forcing the government to reverse its policy. Michael later served as a legal consultant for LexisNexis.
